What would a hot CPI print mean for gold?
Twan · 8:02 AM
Usually it's a headwind. A hot print lifts the dollar and real yields, and gold pays no interest, so it gets less attractive to hold.
  • The 10-year yield is at 5.10%, down 18bp this week. A hot number could reverse that.
  • If headline inflation is hot mainly because of oil, gold can hold up better. A hot core number is the bigger threat.
  • Levels to watch: support at 4,104, resistance at 4,181.

Questions

What is LemonTrades?

LemonTrades is an AI market news desk for traders. It watches financial news, the economic calendar and prices for the markets you follow, and tells you what moved them and why: breaking-news alerts, warnings and results for economic releases, a morning brief each weekday, and Twan, an AI analyst you can ask questions.

Is this financial advice?

No. LemonTrades gives market information and analysis, like a directional bias and key levels. It never tells you to buy or sell, and it doesn't know your finances or goals. Trading is risky and you can lose money. Your trades are your own decisions.

Which markets does it cover?

Major forex pairs and the US Dollar Index, gold and silver, oil and natural gas, the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow, Russell 2000, DAX, FTSE 100 and Nikkei, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP, and any US-listed stock.

What does it cost?

LemonTrades is free while it's in beta.

How do I get in?

The beta is invite-only. If you have an invite link or code, use it when you sign up. If not, sign up anyway and you'll join the waitlist.

Where does the information come from?

Public financial news feeds, live and delayed price sources, the economic calendar and US Treasury data. AI from Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) scores the news and writes the alerts, briefs and Twan's answers. AI can make mistakes, so check anything important before you act on it.

What happens when I sign in with Google?

Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with LemonTrades. We use them only to create your account and keep it secure. We don't get access to your Gmail, contacts, files or anything else, and we never sell your information. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
